16% of all Canadian dollars spent buying homes in the U.S. are invested in Arizona. Only Florida, the traditional destination of eastern Canadians, has more. Across the nation, Canadians spent about 20% less on all U.S. properties year-to-year from April to March this year, but still accounted for $11.2 billion dollars in sales. No doubt the unfavorable currency exchange rate has taken its toll on Canadian wallets.
